Sarah Martinez has been practicing nursing for over 17 years since graduating from the Richard J Daley Community College in Chicago, IL. with an associate’s degree in nursing. Wanting to continue her education and grow her nursing career, she went on to receive her BSN at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL.

Martinez began her career at the Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL. where she quickly proved her proficiency and capability in her field, as well as her empathy and strong leadership qualities. At Advocate Christ Medical Center, she swiftly rose up the ranks and served as a team leader, supervisor and performed multiple tasks as an assistant manager to prepare for JACHO. Martinez realized during this time her passion for home health care and went on to become a case manager/home care RN for Phoenix Home Care where she supervised the on-call service for 100 employees and over 200 patients.

In 2009, Martinez was fortunate enough to meet her nursing mentor, Pat Genardo at Elite Care Management, and went on to accept the position of director of nursing. In her role at Elite, Martinez used her experience and expertise to assist in growing the business, help create the company manual and medical forms, developed clinical competencies and oversees the quality assurance of all records, staff and patient care. Martinez became highly regarded by her colleagues, the 20 office staff she supervises, her patients and their families, and the over 50 field staff she manages.

Today, Martinez’s role at Elite Care has grown to the administrator of Elite Care at Home, Inc., where she oversees all the aspects of the organization and its employees. She ensures compliance with federal and state regulation for health care facilities and organizations to home care and the private duty division. Martinez is also a registered nurse in Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin, and currently has over 68 contact hours, including AIDS impact, dementia, chest tubes learning, trach care and suctioning, prevention of prevention diseases, Oasis C/ ICD 10 coding, adult physical assessment and Oasis Certification.

Most importantly, Martinez is a knowledgeable, dedicated go-to source for patients and a role model and mentor for nurses just beginning their career. Martinez’s love of nursing and patient care shows through in all aspects of her job, and her dedication and perseverance has helped grow Elite Care at Home over the last 9 years to be one of the leading home health care agencies in the area.

Martinez and her husband Brian are the proud parents of a young daughter. In her free time, Martinez is the president of the PTL at Trinity Lutheran School in Tinley Park, Illinois, the leader of a Girl Scout troop, and the Community Leader for the Relay for Life in Oak Forest, IL.
